Closing Reflections on my IS101 Journey

My experience in IS101 this spring semester was great. I learned a lot of new tools and shortcuts with the different Microsoft programs we went over. There was so much more to do and explore within these programs that were fun/challenging. Professor Albert was, very helpful, and patient with any issues I had. From the assignments to clarifying any questions I had about the LabSim challenges, he was available. My classmates were helpful and kind. If I had any questions, they wouldn't hesitate to lend a helping hand. The section I chose from Chapter 6 is, 6.7.2: Power Point Table. The content placeholder makes it so convenient to add a table to a slide. There are many options to format the table to your preference, which adds visual representation of data points to convey to your intended audience.

Here is a collage of my Power Point presentation I did at the beginning of the semester. The topic I chose was, American Samoa.
This class taught me a lot about how I approach new challenges. It enriched my mind with new things to take and apply to my own personal/professional life. Thank you for your time! :)

  1. I wish I got a chance on seeing your presentation about American Samoa. I was always curious on how the culture works, where they come from and what is the difference between American Samoa from the main island Hawaii. That said, you are totally right about having new challenges in this class. It's not even about the LabSim anymore but more on the practical skills in life that we learn throughout the semester. Wishing you best in in your future endeavors and hopefully I can visit the American Samoa some time.

  2. Hi Josie, thank you for balancing my negativity a little during the presentations because your presentation about Samoa was honestly relaxing to listen to. I really enjoyed learning more about your homeland and the culture there, especially since it feels so different from living in a crowded city.

The part about limited hospital care in remote areas honestly activated my healthcare anxiety a little, because I already panic when a pharmacy closes early, so living somewhere isolated would probably mentally destroy me. Still, your presentation made Samoa look beautiful, peaceful, and very memorable.

  8. Hi Josephine. I like the use of tables because they allow us to easily see what data is connected to what categories.

  11. Hello Josie! Your presentation was definitely one of my top favorites. I'm not going to sugarcoat and say your slides were the best-looking and most creative because you probably rushed it since you are a busy woman. But the plain-looking slides honestly made such an interesting topic make an unexpected 'boom' for everyone. I loved it so much :)
